About the Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Trades Assistant to join our Maintenance team at our Toolleen, Victoria site.
This is a full-time position (42 hours per week) with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
Roster:
Sunday | 06:00 to 14:30
Monday to Thursday | 06:00 to 15:00
Working alongside our experienced Maintenance team, you'll play a key role in maintaining site buildings, equipment and infrastructure, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and has experience using tools, machinery and workshop equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and infrastructure.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Support repairs to machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Complete general maintenance, repairs and site housekeeping.
- Assist with basic welding and fabrication tasks where required.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment and spare parts.
- Work safely while following all company policies, procedures and biosecurity requirements.
- Support the Maintenance team with additional duties as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, Farm Hand or similar hands-on role.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on machinery or mechanical equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is highly regarded but not essential.
- The ability to work independently and within a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence and reliable transport.
- The ability to perform physically demanding work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Hold a current Australian Driver's Licence and reliable transport.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment Medical Assessment, including a Drug & Alcohol screening.
- Be willing to work in a piggery environment and comply with all biosecurity and animal welfare requirements.
- Be available to commence as soon as possible.
