The opportunity

We are currently seeking a HR Advisor to join our Human Resource Team on a Maternity Leave contract.

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the HR Advisor will provide professional services to employees at Swickers Kingaroy Processing Facility.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Provide generalist Human Resources support, advice and coaching to Managers/Supervisors and employees at Kingaroy.
  • Execute day to day Human Resource activities such as recruitment, counselling and grievances, organisational development, onboarding and other related policies and procedures.
  • Provide a consultancy service to all Kingaroy employees on human resource management issues, including the interpretation of relevant Acts, Regulations, Awards, industrial agreements, legislation, policy and procedures relevant to HR.
  • Advise on renumeration and terms and conditions of employment including workplace planning and benchmarking of key positions.
  • To support the HRBP in the development and execution of key Human Resources initiatives that focus on building site capability, improving engagement levels and people management.
  • To support and execute in engagement initiatives as required such as toolbox, pork talks and BBQ’s etc.
  • To maintain accurate human resources information systems by ensuring employment records are up-to-date, accurate and in accordance with company policy.
  • Support managers and employees through performance review and development process.
  • Help Identify and implement engagement initiatives, including coordination of yearly engagement survey and related action plans
  • Continuous improvement in safety performance through working with employees and frontline managers to drive a continuous improvement safety culture.

Desired Skills and Experience

What we’re looking for

Swickers has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team. As a key member you will have:

  • Diploma or Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources of associated field or 3 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills;
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal and willing to lead by example;
  • Have a proactive, action oriented and logical approach;
  • Be a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude. 
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Embraces a changing and busy environment.
