We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Weaner Supervisor to join our team at Tong Park. Reporting directly to the Weaner Unit Manager, this is a full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about livestock production, team leadership, and maintaining the highest standards of animal care.
About the Role
As the Weaner Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the weaner unit, ensuring excellent animal welfare outcomes, maintaining production targets, and supporting and leading team members to achieve operational excellence.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) with a commencement date of 6th Oct 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the weaner unit.
- Lead, mentor and support team members to achieve production and welfare targets.
- Monitor animal health, wellbeing and performance, identifying and responding to issues promptly.
- Ensure high standards of biosecurity, animal welfare and workplace safety are maintained.
- Complete production records and reporting accurately.
- Work collaboratively with the Weaner Unit Manager and wider site team.
- Participate in the site's alarm roster, responding to after-hours alarms as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor Degree in Animal Production, Animal Science, Agriculture or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working within intensive livestock production (piggery experience highly regarded).
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to animal welfare and workplace safety.
- A current Australian driver's licence.
- The ability to operate a company vehicle while rostered on alarm duties.
