Job Description
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Trades Assistant to join our South Australian Maintenance Team, supporting up to 10 piggery sites across the region.
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll assist with repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment installations and farm improvements to keep our operations running efficiently. The team meets at a designated location each morning before travelling together to the scheduled work site, with all tools and equipment provided.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with planned and reactive maintenance across piggery sites.
Carry out basic welding, fabrication and repairs on farm equipment and infrastructure.
Support equipment installations, upgrades and maintenance projects.
Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Follow all workplace health and safety, biosecurity and animal welfare procedures.
Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Team to minimise downtime across our farms.
About You
You'll be a practical, reliable team player who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in delivering quality results.
To be successful, you'll have:
Previous experience as a Trades Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, Farm Hand or in a similar role.
Basic welding and fabrication skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Experience using hand and power tools.
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between farm sites.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
