Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Group Payroll & Compliance Manager to lead the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of payroll services across the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role holds end-to-end accountability for payroll compliance outcomes. You will act as the organisational subject matter expert on payroll governance, Fair Work compliance and Australian Payroll Association (APA) better practice.

This is a senior, high-impact role suited to a payroll leader who thrives in complex environments, is confident navigating awards and EBA's, and can balance regulatory compliance with operational practicality.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead end-to-end payroll delivery across a diverse, multi-state workforce
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, awards, EBA's and payroll obligations
  • Own payroll governance, risk management and underpayment prevention frameworks
  • Act as an escalation point for complex payroll, compliance and regulatory matters
  • Lead, coach and develop the payroll team and build capability
  • Drive continuous improvement across payroll systems, controls and reporting

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You are a highly experienced payroll professional with strong technical expertise and the confidence to lead compliance in complex, regulated environments. You're detail-driven, resilient and comfortable partnering with senior leaders to resolve risk and improve outcomes.

You will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, HR or a related discipline
  • Extensive payroll leadership experience in FMCG, manufacturing, agriculture or similar
  • Expert knowledge of modern awards, EBA's and Fair Work compliance
  • Proven experience managing payroll risk, audits and regulatory engagement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and people leadership capability
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, production-led environments
